Cassia Obovata ( Senna) Cassia has no dye content so is often called 'neutral henna' But it is not henna as henna comes from the lawsona plant and cassia comes from a different shrub. Cassia / senna does not colour hair but sometimes with blond or grey hair it will give a slight yellow colour due to the presence of chrysophanic acid which is also found in the rhubarb root which is often used to tint grey hair. Cassia has the added benefit of strengthening and thickening hair and provides shine. |
