Caring for your Sea Sponge

Sea Sponges are a natural animal.

They contain a natural enzyme which inhibits bacteria but does not prevent mold, bacteria or mildew from growing. Therefore it is essential for care to be taken with your sponge to prevent the growth and to extend the life of your natural sponge.

After each use, rinse out your sponge & then let your sponge dry out completely

Do not microwave as this will shrink & harden  your sponge
Do not put into a clothers drier as this will also shrink & harden your sponge.
Do not use bleach or other detergents as this will deteriorate your sponge & shorten its life.

If you would like to disinfect your sponge occassionally, this can be done the natural way:

A few drops of tea tree oil mixed in a cup of warm water
1 tablespoon of baking soda in a cup of warm water
1 tablespoon of cider vinegar in a cup of warm water.
